Adega do Pomar

Explore the rural charms of the Camacha region with a visit to "Adega do Pomar", a property dedicated to the artisanal production of apple cider. Located in the picturesque region of Camacha, approximately 30 minutes from Funchal, this winery is a testament to the commitment to quality and authenticity.

The apples are carefully selected from small local producers, harvested by hand to create Adega do Pomar's distinctive artisanal cider called “Moscadinha”. Discover the traditional and artisanal methods used to transform these apples into different types of Cider: Fresh, aged in Madeira Vine casks, produced using the “champenoise” method.

A visit to the cellar offers a fascinating insight into the entire production process, from pressing the apples to fermenting and maturing the cider. At the end, enjoy a tasting accompanied by some regional snacks such as homemade bread, tuna and stewed broad beans.

Dish – Baked suckling pig / regional “espetada” / oven-roasted tuna / pork loin stuffed with alheira / duck rice / lamb stew.
