Central West Tour – Curral das Freiras/Cabo Girão/Funchal

Departure from Funchal, to Curral das Freiras, for a short visit to this magnificent village. Afterwards we leave for the Boca dos Namorados viewpoint, where the landscape allows us to glimpse the village of Curral das Freiras from a higher point (approximately 1100 meters above sea level). We continue off-road on a route where we can feel nature in its purest state, until we stop at a typically Madeiran bar so that the typical regional and well-known Poncha drink can be tasted. After this stop, we follow the regional roads, from Quinta Grande to the Cabo Girão Viewpoint, where we have a landscape 580 meters above sea level on a glass floor, which provides unique moments and sensations. The fishing village of Câmara de Lobos is the last stopping point, where traditions and customs are very present in the daily lives of locals. Finally, we return to Funchal.

Departure from the Hotel, towards the Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, to observe the magnificent landscapes colored by our vineyards, followed by a stop at the Cabo Girão viewpoint. We visit the Boca dos Namorados viewpoint, 1000 meters above sea level, where we can enjoy a fantastic view of Curral das Freiras.

Crossing Jardim da Serra and Quinta Grande we arrive via the fast track, crossing the 2nd largest tunnel on the island we reach the North, Rosário and Lameiros taking alternative paths and through Laurissilva we arrive at Quinta do Barbusano*, where we will visit the wine estate and taste the wines with lunch typical Madeiran. After lunch, visit the Porto Moniz Natural Pools and return to Funchal.

Pico do Arieiro / Ribeiro Frio / Pico das Pedras / Santana / Porto da Cruz / Ponta de São Lourenço

Leaving Funchal we begin the climb towards Poiso and Pico do Areeiro (1810 meters). Leaving one of the highest peaks on the island, we begin to descend to the North side of the Island, passing through Ribeiro Frio where we will take a short walk to Balcões (45 minutes). Returning to the jeep we pass through Cruzinhas, Lombo Galego with several off-road excursions, and agricultural landscapes, we will arrive at Cova da Roda, passing through the Natural Park

Heading to Santana, we visit the typical houses of the town and take a lunch break at Quinta do Furão* with the fantastic view that the landscape offers us.Starting the afternoon route, we pass by the Faial viewpoint towards Porto da Cruz, to visit the Sugarcane Mill where you can taste the famous Madeiran Poncha, made with sugarcane brandy. We ended the day by visiting the eastern tip of the island, Ponta de São Lourenço, where we enjoyed the fantastic views of the north and south coasts simultaneously and then returned to Funchal.

There are not many mountain peaks in the world that you can reach by car. But, at 1818 meters Pico do Arieiro, the third highest peak in Madeira, is one of the few rare. Hop on at 4x4 JEEP from the hotel and we'll take you above the clouds to see the sunrise.

When you arrive at Pico do Arieiro in the early hours of the morning, the cool and invigorating atmosphere will be just the beginning for the celestial spectacle that will unfold before your eyes. As the sun slowly awakens, lighting up the sky and painting a picture of vivid colors, you will be at the highest point to witness the transition of the day into a stunning landscape.

The experience is further enhanced with a homemade breakfast prepared fresh by our guide, providing a warm and delicious touch to accompany the unique setting. Enjoy fresh, local delicacies while the soft light of the rising sun spreads over the mountains and clouds below, creating a unique and memorable spectacle.

Pick up will be done at the hotel (time to be arranged depending on the time of year).

South & Sunset – Ponta do Sol/Calheta/Jardim do Mar/Paul do Mar/Ponta Pargo/Funchal

We set out to discover the southern part of the island begins towards Ponta do Sol where we will make our stops in the center, the bridge of Caminho Real 23 and in Cascata dos Anjos. We quickly head towards Calheta, where the white sandy beach delights many. We cross the fantastic villages of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar where the old roads and some off-road incursions show us much of the real Madeira. Arriving at the Lighthouse, Ponta do Pargo, we have a delicious landscape over the sea in contrast to the intense green of nature, passing by the waterfall of Garganta Funda and Pico Vermelho.

Our journey is to culminate in a magnificent Sunset, in a place full of magic and a day full of adventure. On this tour we also have time for dinner, this can be before or after sunset, depending on the time of year. Finally, we return along the coast to Funchal.
