Quinta do Barbusano

Explore the wine heart of Madeira with an exclusive visit to Quinta do Barbusano, located in São Vicente, in the north of the island, about 40 minutes from the center of Funchal. At this property you have access to a world of wine tradition and gastronomic experiences that highlight the best flavors of the region.

Start your tour visiting the vineyards, where grapes are grown under Madeira's generous sun. Discover the artisanal methods that transform grapes into exceptional wines and learn about the region's rich wine heritage, guided by local experts passionate about the art of winemaking.

Then, indulge in a private tasting enjoying the harmony between the wines and a careful selection of local products, where each dish is a celebration of local cuisine, carefully paired with the wines produced on the property.

Visit + tasting

Guided visit to the vineyards and tasting of 6 different wines (3 whites, 1 rosé, and 2 reds). During the tasting, cheese, chorizo and toast are included. Possibility of doing it in the vineyards, subject to weather conditions.

Gold Tasting

Guided visit to the vineyards and tasting of 9 different wines (4 whites, 1 rosé, and 4 reds). During the tasting, cheese, chorizo and toast are included.

Visit to the Vineyards

The lunch menu is “espetada” in bay leaf (traditional meet dish), served with boiled potatoes, salad and bolo do caco (local bread) with garlic butter. For dessert we served homemade passion fruit pudding with a glass of Madeira wine and coffee.

During lunch, customers have free water and tasting wines. The vegetarian dish consists of mushrooms and vegetables sautéed with Madeiran couscous (upon request).

‍Exclusive tasting during lunch: Fonte D'Areia (white wine with Porto Santo island Grapes), Quinta do Barbusano (White wine), Barricas Tinto (Red Wine).

  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday between 9:30 am and 6 pm‍
  • Visit + tasting= €45 per PAX‍
  • Visit + tasting in the vineyards= €65 per PAX‍
  • Gold Tasting (minimum 5 PAX) = €78 per PAX‍
  • Gold Tasting in the vineyards (min 5 PAX)= €91 per PAX‍
  • Tasting + lunch= €80 per PAX‍
  • Lunch + gold tasting*= €230 per PAX‍
  • Lunch in the vineyards (from Jun-Sep)= €190 per PAX
